The monthly meeting of the Central New York Region of the Sports Car Club of America was called to order at 7:03PM, Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the American Legion in Liverpool, NY by Regional Executive Ed Leubner. Twelve people were in attendance.
Ed made a motion to accept the minutes of the May meeting. The motion was seconded by Ted Barbuto and approved by unanimous voice vote.
Regional Executive's Report
Ed spoke with Lyn Hidy about posthumously nominating her father, Lee Hidy, to the Hall of Fame. Ed is looking to work with Lyn in the coming months and hopes to have the materials ready for nomination next year.
Assistant Regional Executive's Report
A.R.E. Mark Bizzozero reported that we now have vinyl on two sides of the autocross trailer (curb side and rear door).
Mark has his recently acquired first generation MR2 on the road, has driven it to work several times and looks forward to running it at our upcoming autocross this Sunday at Seneca Army Depot.
Treasurer's Report
Treasurer Jay Cartini submitted a report (attached to e-mail) showing a May 1st opening balance of $7,505.31. Monthly income of $2,958.29 and expenses of $715.64 resulted in a May 31st closing balance of $9,747.96. Checks outstanding total $854.36.
Secretary's Report
Secretary Pro Tem Mark Mangicaro had no report.
Activities Report
Activities Co-Chair Ted Barbuto confirmed that the Lee Hidy Memorial Picnic and Car Show will be Wednesday, August 14th from 6:00PM to 9:00PM. The location will again be Arrowhead Lodge, 9248 McKinley Ridge Road in Brewerton. Price is $15 for adults. Kids eat free.
Road Rally
R.E. Leubner reported that Rally Chair Frank Beyer e-mailed him that things are on hold until he recovers from his hip surgery.
Autocross Report
Autocross Chair Scott Newton reported that we had no local events in May. We did have 3 CNY members (Scott, Mike Young, and Joe Cosentino) participate in the National Champ Tour (hosted by FLR) held at Seneca Army Depot May 17-19.
Our next local event will be this coming Sunday at SeAD. Set-up will be immediately following the GVC BMW CCA event there on Saturday. On June 30th we will be at the Oswego Co EVOC site in Fulton.
RallyCross Report
RallyCross Chair Billy Mead reported that we currently have just eight registrants for this Sunday’s event. If we are not able the reach the minimum of 14 participants to run an event then we will invite everyone to partake in a “tree-pulling” party at Billy’s property to help ready that site ready to host future RallyCross events.
Racing Report
Mick Levy reported that things will start to pick up at WGI over the next two to three weeks.
Membership
Membership Chair Andrew Beyer reported that we currently have 174 members, which includes 8 members new to the area.

Andrew has 2 file boxes of historical items, mostly rally related.
Rex Franklin is holding a memorial service for Tammy from 4-7PM on Sunday, June 23rd at Giambattista’s place. Everyone who knew Tammy is welcome to attend. Please let Rex know if you plan on attending so that he can get a head count.
There was no 50/50 raffle tonight.
At 7:54PM a motion was made by Rex Franklin to adjourn the meeting; it was seconded by Karl Hughes and passed unanimously by voice vote.
Our next meeting will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the American Legion in Liverpool at 7:00PM.
