A public hearing has been announced regarding the Central New York Raceway Park on January 7th @ 7:00pm. It has been requested that club members show at the meeting as a display of support to the new facility

On _January 7 , 2014 at 7:00 p.m., the Hastings Town Board will hold a public hearing on the Central New York Raceway Park, Inc. application for Special Use Permit and Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the construction of a motor sports and harness racing complex.

The hearing will be held at Town Hall, 1134 U.S. Route 11.

The racing complex is proposed for 150 acres of land located between U.S. Route 11 and Interstate Route 81, running north from the existing Brewerton Raceway to the Central Square Middle School. The proposal includes a road course and dirt track, a 50 bay garage, restaurant, banquet facilities, and parking for 4,500 vehicles. The proposal also includes a horse stabling barn and paddock area. Potential environmental impacts include fill or disturbance of wetlands; elimination or disturbance of vegetation, wildlife habitat and wildlife; air quality, noise and other traffic related impacts; change to the visual environment and changes in land use. The Town will take written public comment on the application and the DEIS for 60 days following publication of this Notice.
